In the pleasant hall of the ‘Agriturismo Monteparadiso’ restaurant in Viterbo (Italy), has been presented the 2014 KTM Marchetti Racing team. The team is focusing on the growth of promising talents, and will participate, as in the two previous years, in the FIM Motocross World Championship and in the Motocross European Championship, and for the next season will have four young riders.
The Italian Ivo Monticelli, nineteen year old from Ancona, will ride in the challenging MX2 World Championship, with the aim of fighting in the top group. He will use the 2014 KTM SX 250 F, prepared by Marchetti Racing. Same bike for the seventeen year old Latvian Pauls Jonass (2013 World and European Champion), who will ride in the European EMX250 Championship, with the highest ambitions, and also in the MX2 World Championship, in non concomitant GPs.
Fifteen year old Ivan Petrov (from Bulgaria) with his KTM 125 SX will fight for the top of the 125cc European Championship, and only eleven year old, and mascot of the team Alessandro Facca, from Rome (2013 65cc Italian champion) in 2014 will make his debut in the minicross 85cc category.
Winter training has already begun for all the riders of Team Marchetti, and the first goals are arriving, with the first of the three races of the Italian Internazionali Motocross Championship scheduled for the 2nd of February in Riola Sardo ( OR).
The Motocross World Championship (eighteen GPs) will start on the 1st of March, with the first of three races outside Europe: Qatar, Thailand and Brazil.
Elio Marchetti, team manager: “This team presentation has become a tradition and an opportunity to meet friends and fans and exchange greetings for Christmas, but it is also the event that kicks off the new season. We are ready for 2014: the bikes are ready, the team, the structure, the technicians and materials, and the boys have started their training on the track. Our team has focused more on young riders, and our choice to grow young talents has found enthusiastic support from KTM and our sponsors. Working with the kids is great, the group is already very close-knit and I am optimistic”.
