It has been a busy start to the season for Wade Young and Mario Roman.
Following the Ales’Trem won by Mario and the podium by Wade, they then raced the Bassella Xtreme Race in Spain where despite a fall Wade finished in fourth place.
Their next stop was this past weekend in Il Ciocco, Italy where they raced the inevitable Hell’s Gate.
In the enduro selection race, the Sherco riders were able to maintain positions towards the front of the field. In the Hell’s Gate only the first thirty finishers of the Enduro race are allowed to transfer to the afternoon race. Mario finished second and Wade finished third. This gave them good positions for the start of the evenings “main event”.
Just as he did in the Ales’trem, Mario waited for his opportunity, he did however increase his pace over the hours …. towards the end of the race he took control and held it all the way to the waving of the checkered flag and won his first Hell’s Gate !!
This is the second win for Sherco here at the Hell’sGate since we returned to Xtreme racing three years ago, as it was here that Wade Young won his first victory in 2016.
