Slovenia’s top motocross rider Klemen Gercar gets an additional two-race MX1 deal with 24MX Honda. Gercar will thus compete at the Lausitzring and Loket. The 22-year old from Ljubljana is currently leading the FIM MX3 World Championship, riding for the Czech Ufo Racing Team.
Gercar made his MX1 debut last weekend during the Finnish GP. Klemen, who is much more at ease on hard pack, used his Hyvinkää outing to familiarize himself with the 24MX Honda CRF450R. Now Gercar can take profit of another break in the MX3 GP calendar after the cancellation of the Brazilian round to race both the German and Czech MX1 Grand Prix.
This weekend Klemen continues his quest for the MX3 world title in Chernivtsky (Ukraine), the sixth round of the series.
Klemen Gercar: “I have to admit that the Grand Prix in Finland was quite difficult for me. We had a lot of firsts there; too many actually! For the first time in four months I was racing in the sand, it was my first time on the 2013 Honda CRF450R and it was my very first GP in MX1… Of course it’s also exactly what you can expect. Among the very best riders in the world the level is obviously very high. But I’m really looking forward to see what I can do at the Lausitzring and in Loket. I want to enjoy myself there and it will be nice to compete without any kind of pressure for points. Again I have to say thanks to Ladislav from Ufo Racing Team and the 24MX Honda guys for making all of this possible.”
