LATINA ( Italy ) 13 July, 2013 – A full summer Saturday for FIM Supermoto World Championship and European Supermoto Championship riders who had to face an entire very hot day of races from the second free practice until the last second races. The International Circuit “il Sagittario” was the big scenario of fantastic races; in S1 class a very scrappy Thomas Chareyre came back on the first place of the podium, while in the ES2 class it is possible to add another new name to the victorious list: Edgardo Borella.

TM Racing Factory Team Thomas Chareyre was the winner of this Saturday Latina Grand Prix; he was very happy because he has not won a Grand Prix since last year in Croatia and, moreover, it was a great satisfaction to win with a broken hand. The defending Champion had a good time practice this afternoon, finishing second.
Starting from the first row, in race one he managed to overtook his brother in the second lap then he was consistent, jumping Hermunen in the off-road part and passing him but, the Finnish came faster from behind and caught the French easily; then, after changing position another time with Hermunen, he finished second in the first heat. In the second heat the French took the opportunity from a Hermunen’s mistake and overtook him; then he also overtook his brother, changing position with him several times, but finally he found a good rhythm finishing first and got the first step of the podium.
APRILIA Fast Wheels Adrien Chareyre did his best race of the season, reaching the second step of the podium finishing 3-2 after overtaking Hermunen in the off-road part, fighting with his brother and achieving his goal to catch up the third position in the Overall Standings.
Third step of the podium this afternoon for TM Shr Mauno Hermunen who took the pole with the best lap of 1:10.088. In the first race the Finnish took the holeshot and won the heat; in the second race he had a very good start as well, taking the holeshot but in the off road part he made a mistake and was passed by Chareyre’s brother, Thierry Van Den Bosch and Ivan Lazzarini finishing fifth. However Mauno feels safe he was able to maintain the Red Plate on his bike with 225 comfortable points and admitted: “ this season was perfect for me, I won everything and now I have two months to train and do my best in the next SMGP”.
Fourth position for TM Racing Factory Team Thierry Van Den Bosch who is improving the feeling with his bike race by race. The former SM Champion had a good qualifying today and started closing the first row; in the first heat, he managed to overtook Ivan Lazzarini finishing fourth, while in the second heat he passed Mauno Hermunen at the seventh lap first and then also Ivan Lazzarini, finishing third.
HM L30 Racing Ivan Lazzarini missed once again the podium this week-end: “ Now that Van Den Bosch has back and with another TM, the competition is more difficult and closing in the top five is a good result. I enjoyed the format of the today race, even if it was just a little bit stressful; however it was similar to the last season, when we had three races” . This afternoon the Italian Champion opened the second row and closed the top five in the Overall Standings after finishing 5-4.
The sixth overall position was for HONDA Luc1 Owatrol Sylvan Bydart who was consistent, finishing sixth in both heats after having passed HM Christian Ravaglia – who was very close to him in both races – and finished seventh followed by another home rider SUZUKI Brt Andrea Occhini who had a good recovery; then we find his countryman Fabrizio Bartolini – who had his best performance of the season – and HONDA Tds Uros Nastran, who closed the top ten.

The race to the European title has never been as much battled ever and today in the fifth Round it was add a new name to the victorious list: YAMAHA Extream Team Edgardo Borella who – after several good starts during this season, was finally able to obtain also his maiden overall victory. In the first heat the country rider took the holeshot and kept the leading until the seventh lap, when Diego Monticelli overtook him; then also the two TM Shr boys Mitchell-Thomas and Salsola came faster from behind and caught him, so he finally finished fourth. In the second heat he had a very good start as well, taking the holeshot and easily keeping the leading until the chequered flag.
Second in the Overall Standings TM Shr Sami Salstola who finished 2-4. The Finnish started from the second row and he did not have a very good start but he succeed in having a very good recovery and in overtaking Vermeulen after having battled with him and he did the same with his teammate Ben Strafford, his countryman Asseri Kingelin and the other team mate Mitchell-Thomas.
HONDA Tds Asseri Kingelin closed the podium finishing sixth in the first heat and second in the last heat, also thanks to the fact that the HONDA Freccia Team Diego Monticelli – who was having a quite good race – got his bike turned off.
Fourth position today for TM Shr Mitchell-Thomas Malachi who took the pole with the fastest lap of 1: 11.776 and then grabbed the Red Plate at Vermulen after his 3-4 results. The British rider felt very confident in this circuit, very familiar to him because last winter he had a lot of tests here and felt this Round like a home race. Today Mitchell-Thomas also won the Young Trophy.
Milan Sitniansky – who obtained his best results of the season today – closed the top five.
Unlucky day for KTM Mtr Devon Vermeulen who had some problems with his bike during the time practice so he was not able to start in a good position and he also crashed in both heats, dropping in eleventh position in the Overall Classification.
