Yamaha Racing look for continued success at round two of the FIM Enduro World Championship in Spain.
Determined to build on their strong start to their 2015 Enduro 1 campaign, Team Yamaha Miglio are set to tackle round two of the championship in Jerez, Spain.
Looking to deliver the goods on home soil, Cristobal Guerrero will be pushing hard to secure his first podium result of the season. A rider who always excels on the dry, hard pack terrain that is a regular feature of the GP of Spain, Guerrero’s knowledge and experience in these often challenging conditions should ensure he places his WR250F at the sharp end of the results.
Performing well at the GP of Chile – his first event as a full-time team member – Gianluca Martini arrives in Jerez eager to build on his recent strong results. With the opening round nerves now out of the way, the young Italian can set his sights on edging closer to a top five result.
For Yamaha France’s supported rider Marc Bourgeois, the GP of Chile was one to savour. Consistently fighting for a top three placing, Bourgeois delivered a debut podium result for the new WR250F on day one. Hungry to prove that his result wasn’t a one off, Bourgeois heads to Spain focused solely on reaching the podium again.
Round two of the FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship takes place in Jerez, Spain on May 9/10.
Cristobal Guerrero – Enduro 1
“I’m excited to race so close to home this weekend. Jerez is only about one-hour or so from where I live so I hope the terrain will really suit me. I feel good coming into this round and now that I’ve got one round of the championship under my belt the nerves are settled and I can begin to attack harder. I felt like I rode strong in Chile but a couple of mistakes cost me and in a class as competitive as Enduro 1, those mistakes can mean the difference between winning or finishing top five. With the support of my home crowd behind me I’m hoping to deliver a top result in Jerez.”
Gianluca Martini – Enduro 1
“Now that we are back in Europe I really feel that the championship is truly beginning. Racing in conditions that are more familiar to me will help me to improve my position. Overall I’m pleased with how Chile went. It was good to get the first round completed and have something to build on now for the rest of the series. I feel settled in my class and love riding the WR250F. I’m looking forward to get back racing again this weekend.”
