Team STR KTM is pleased to announce the signing of popular Brit, Jake Nicholls who will ride the KTM 450SX-F in next season’s MXGP class in the World Championship. He will also make a welcome return to the UK to compete in the British Championship.

The team has also completed the re-signing of Latvian-favourite Matiss Karro who is looking forward to his third season with the British outfit.

Jake Nicholls said: “I am very pleased to be signed-up with Team STR KTM for the 2014 season; it will be my first season in the MX1 class and I feel that staying on a familiar KTM bike and in a nice relaxed environment like Steve seems to give his team, will be good for me. I’m very sure that I can be successful on the MX1 bike as I’m quite a big lad and in my past experience on the 450; it suits my style well. It will be nice to be back racing in Great Britain too after two years away from the championship. Thanks to Steve for giving me the opportunity to prove myself on the big bike.”

Matiss Karro said: “I’m happy that I could sign again with Team STR KTM because I see how hard they work and it makes me work harder. I am fit now and will have the whole winter to prepare for next season and I’m looking forward to a successful year.”

Team Manager Steve Turner commented, “I’m pleased to have secured the signature of Jake to partner Matiss. It will be great for us and the UK public to have a British rider in the team; especially one as talented and committed as Jake. Having such a strong line-up inspires us to continue with the hard work which is needed to compete at the highest level.”
