USA want final day glory at ISDE

ISDE 2013 Enduro - Tyler RobertsCurrently holding down the runner-up position in the FIM World Trophy team competition team USA have enjoyed a fantastic week in Sardinia at the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). Fifth in the overall individual results Kawasaki mounted Taylor Roberts has delivered the goods in no uncertain terms.

Heading into the final day’s motocross races Taylor knows that improving on the US Trophy team’s current position of second is going to be all but impossible, but that certainly does not mean he and the rest of the team will not be trying.

“It’s not since the early 80s that team USA got second, I think it was in ’82. The whole team is really, really excited that we’re in such a strong position, but we want to win. The French riders are so strong, so fast, but we believe that we’re getting closer. The French set the benchmark and we have to raise our game if we’re going to beat them. It’s fun trying to do that.

“I’ve had a great week. I’m from Arizona so the terrain in Sardinia has suited me. I don’t race so many enduro events, but this is my third ISDE now and I’ve loved this year’s event.”
