After one month of eager anticipation for the selected group of 11-14 year-olds since the last outing for the official Training Camp, the gates drop for the second running of this springboard championship for the talent of tomorrow this weekend, 3-4 May.

Following national selections and nominations, a full grid of 30 competitors have been selected to compete in this year’s series, with a very limited number of wildcard places being held open at each of the five rounds.

The Honda 150 European Championship is focused on providing emerging stars with the chance to shine on the MXGP stage, riding alongside the best in the world as they aspire to assume that mantle themselves as the next generation of motocross racers.

The bikes, tools, all running equipment and on-site infrastructure are all provided by Honda to keep costs at a minimum for the riders. All they need do is get themselves to the Grand Prix, and ride.

The extended calendar, which now consists of ten motos across the five events, will see the racers hone their talents on Honda’s four-stroke CRF150R machines, competing for the prize of a ride with a Honda-supported team in the 2015 EMX250 championship.

Honda have provided all riders with identical machines ahead of the series while on-site mechanics will help tailor the CRF150Rs to each individual’s needs.

A suite of experts will be available throughout the season to support the development of every element of riders’ performance, from nutrition to fitness and psychology, and again multi GP-winner and British motocross champion Gordon Crockard will be on hand for advice on riding and racing.

“It’s always a track with a lot of MX fans and a great atmosphere” said Davy Dousselaere, Honda Europe off-road manager.  “Valkenswaard is quite a demanding track, it’s quite technical, lots of jumps, elevations and rhythm sections. The outstanding talent in this series will surely be welcomed into the Honda Racing family in the future and by racing on the same track as the stars and with the advice of our Honda riders and staff, we will help as many riders as possible progress through the series and onto the EMX250, MX2 and MXGP competitions. We’ve had very positive feedback from parents and riders after the Albaida training camp, where a lot of the kids were riding the Honda CRF150R for the first time, they’re surprised how much fun and easy to ride the bike is and parents are very pleased with the low maintenance cost of the CRF150Rs, too .
