Italian MX2 rider, Ivo Monticelli has had a pretty up and down season this year as he has been persistently battling a niggling knee injury. As a result, the 20-year-old has opted to undergo a complete ACL reconstruction which was successfully performed by Dr. Giorgio Gondolini last week at the Villa Serena clinic in Forli, Italy.
The young Marchetti Racing KTM rider was the best placed Italian in the FIM MX2 World Championship but has now been left with no other option than to miss the final three rounds of the 2014 season in order to recover with a good amount of time to begin his preparation for season 2015.
