Matthew Phillips is victorious in EnduroGP

The opening round of the World Enduro Championship was held in Morocco this past weekend. This was a highly anticipated event because of the new Enduro GP scratch categories in E1, E2 and E3.

Matthew Phillips does not do things halfway, he set a very good pace on Saturday but grew weaker as the day progressed. He suffered from poor nutrition and grew tired. This was an error that he recognized after the race. He did however manage to finish third overall and second in E2. On Sunday he did not repeat the mistake of the day before, he was very vigilant about his diet, he went on to lead the entire race to win in the scratch and obviously in E2.

Lorenzo Santolino felt very motivated in E3, he finished well in the first round on Saturday, unfortunately a hard fall in the special during the second round caused him to have to quit as he hit his face which knocked him out. At the time he was in the top five. On Sunday he courageously raced and finished in seventh place, a more than respectable result under the circumstances.
