Day one of the MXGP of Trentino took place today at Arco di Trento and Ken De Dycker and Jordi Tixier won their Qualifying races. The MX2 qualifying heat started off with a hiss and roar here in Arco Di Trento, with Glenn Coldenhoff, Dean Ferris and Jordi Tixier getting off to a flying start taking the first, second and third positions early in the race while current points leader Jeffrey Herlings and a few other front runners such as Max Ansti, Alessandro Lupino and Jake Nicholls were caught up in a first corner crash. The race turned out to be a fight to the finish between Coldenhoff, Tixier and Ferris with Herlings and Charlier joining in on the battle with one lap to go. In the end Jordi Tixier took his first heat win of the season with Glenn Coldenhoff, Dean Ferris, Jeffrey Herlings and Christophe Charlier finishing closely behind in that order.

MX1 saw Tommy Searle get off to a strong start leading the opening laps of the race with Clement Desalle, Ken De Dyker and Gautier Paulin all hot on his heels challenging for a podium position. Around mid-race Ken De Dyker made a successful charge for the lead and made a small gap on Clement Desalle who had also found a way around Tommy Searle. Meanwhile Gautier Paulin and Antonio Cairolli began picking up the pace, eventually taking the third and fourth positions forcing Searle to settle for fifth.
