2013-Motokros-MX3-Orehova-vas_0584Name Cambre appeared in starting list couple of times in 2012 and this season he decided to attend the whole FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship. 20-years old Belgian coming from the northern part of county from Antwerp´s region has had a big ambitions which was gone in very beginning of season due to injury. Now he is not giving up, trying to ear as much experience as possible and his goal is clear: Despite many obstacles happening during this season to have will strong enough to complete it.

Q: We had opportunity to see you on couple of MX3 rounds in 2012 and never before so what is your motocross background?

Jilani Cambre #724: I´m living in flat countryside full of farms but my place is very close to one of the best Belgium´s tracks in Lommel and many other nice tracks. This facts gave me great opportunities for training an improving myself. When I was 14 yeas old I had a Belgium title in 250cc, 2 stoke, where I was riding with 20-yeas old boys. This my success I value a lot as it was good training and great start for me. Then I decided to join MX3 because I would like to have more international experiences and improve my riding to the higher level. The MX3 is not that expensive to ride there compare to MX1 or MX2. They just need me to be qualified and they let me ride. Another reason is, that in Belgium is quit difficult to ride on the nice and well-prepared tracks, so I decided for MX3 because they are usually picking up always nice tracks. Since I have joined the FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship I learned a lot. In 2013 I rode few rounds of MX3. For instance in Italy, Great Britain, Slovenia, Croatia and Germany, but it was not the whole season. I decided to be part of the MX3 this year but at very beginning in Valkenswaard I broke my ankle. That´s why first two round was not for 100 %, then I missed round In Bulgaria and seriously I started since round in Ukraine.

Q: If you can compare you with someone riding who is riding MX3, who you consider as similar in terms of ridding skills?

I don’t know jet because since last year, the speed is higher. Last year I was 10th in Teuschenthal and it was good. It gave me motivation to work hard during whole winter. After my offseason training I was in good shape and I felt ready mentally, too. When the thing with my ankle happened, everything was gone. Due to this I missed round in Bulgaria. Now I feel better and better but my recovery went slowly as have infection in wound so I´m trying hard to catch points I have lost before.

Q: What was you expectation before you this season?

Harry Everts, he is my trainer and we were thinking about top five. We had a great wintertime together full of preparation, but after Valkenswaard everything went bad way. Just few days before the round in Nederland we went there for training. I crashed and went to hospital. Doctor said, that it is just muscle but he didn´t see on RTG picture, that it´s broken. So I attended the first round and my riding was like nothing, so I stopped and quitted the race. Just after this doctors realized, that my ankle is broken.

Q:Good thing is, that you are not giving up and continue attending races. How your goals changed since this happened?

Now my goal is to complete whole MX3 season and I know I have to be consistent. I ´m able to do a good start but then my physic is gone and others could overtake me. I have to work on that and try to compete with others good riders to have my lever back.

Q: What about your ambitions for your future MX career?

I don´t have lot of targets in very distant future. Now I just would like to complete MX3 in a good way without injuries.

Q: For which team you are racing?

I´ m racing for local team from Belgium which is owned by my friend. He made deal with company for my tools, clothes etc…. We are very family related team while it consists of me, my dad and mechanic Patrick. I would like to say, that I thank my sponsors like KTM as well as to my team, but my biggest sponsor are still my parents and my grandmamma. It´s maybe unusual, but she supports me a lot me not only by money but she is my moral support as well.
