After today’s qualifying races Youthstream President Mr Giuseppe Luongo and FIM/CMS Director Dr Wolfgang Srb came together with MSC Teutschenthal President Mr Joachim Jahnke and MSC Teutschenthal CEO Mr Andreas Kosbahn in a press conference to reveal their thoughts and excitement for the upcoming Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations which will be held on the 28th and 29th September in Teutschenthal, Germany. Motocross of Nations hasn’t come at a better time for Germany as they head into the weekend of September 29 as defending champions. With expected crowds of up to 70,000 people new infrastructure has been introduced to the circuit of Teutschenthal allowing spectators the opportunity to have the ultimate MXoN experience. Stands and staggered embankment will be put in place around the circuit allowing spectators better viewing points and the start straight has also been relocated in order to make the ‘gate drop’ and first turn completely visible for the general public. Roads leading to the circuit have also been altered to allow better traffic flow.
Adding to the excitement Mr Uwe Nagl, manager of team Germany, has announced that the trio selected to defend Germany’s MXoN title on the weekend of September 29 will be Ken Roczen, Max Nagl and Dennis Ullrich with Christian Brockel as a reserve. An excited Max Nagl concluded, “I’m really looking forward to it! Everybody who has been to Teutschenthal knows that the fence is very close to the track almost everywhere so when you ride, it feels like you are in a tunnel of spectators, sometimes they are chanting so hard you can’t hear your bike! So it’s so nice to ride there and this year it will be even more special as we will be riding there with numbers 1, 2 and 3.”
With team announcements trickling in the anticipation for Monster Energy FIM MXoN 2013 is mounting. Youthstream, FIM and the organisers will continue to work hard to ensure the circuit of Teutschenthal will be fully equip and ready to host what is predicted to be the best Motocross of Nations ever.
