In a bit more than two weeks time the most important off road event of the season, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, will take place in Teutschenthal, Germany. The event started in 1947 in The Hague, the Netherlands, and only three Nations were invited. Fifty years later there were already about twenty nations represented, but this 2013 will be another turning point of the event having forty-one countries entered. Besides, those travelling to Teutschenthal during the 29th September weekend will see renovated and new facilities for the public, teams and media, more entertainment than ever and of course the best motocross racing of the year.
The Motocross of Nations has experienced a significant evolution since Youthstream took over the rights of the event in 2004. In that year’s edition twenty-seven countries were represented, ten more than in 2002, 35000 people travelled to Lierop, the Netherlands, to see team Belgium winning the Chamberlain Trophy and more than 160 media covered the event. Since 2006 there have always been more than thirty Nations represented, an average of 70000 fans and almost three hundred media have witnessed and expanded the event around the globe every year.
Teutschenthal will have one of the busiest paddocks of the history of the event, not only because it will have to host the 41 teams entered, but also because the venue will have impressive structures such as a VIP hospitality of more than 2,000m2, the new Skybox, located right behind the starting grid, or the brand new double-decker structure at the main entrance of the paddock. In that double-floor construction the fans will be able to purchase any items of the official merchandising of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, as well as Team USA’s official merchandising, while they enjoy the LIVE music of the MXoN resident DJ who will be located at the second floor next to the official bar KOVO3.
