Thousand of French fans came in this day of glory to see their Supermoto heroes in action during the best race of the season, Adrien Chareyre obtained his second podium in a row, winning the home Grand Prix while Mauno Hermunen got his first FIM Supermoto World Championship Title.
Was a big surprise for APRILIA Fast Wheels Adrien Chareyre winning today his second Grand Prix in a row, in the first heat he had a good start and he managed to keep a good rhythm finishing second immediately behind his brother, in the second heat he took the holeshot and after having changed position with Thomas and Thierry Van Den Bosch after some laps he was able to lead easily until the end.
Second step of the podium and also second position in the S1 Overall Classification for TM Racing Factory Team Thomas who had a very good start in the first heat, jumped Hermunen in the first corner and overtook him then he rode with a great authority until the chequered flag. In the second heat he also had a good start, in the second lap he overtook his brother and obtained the leading but, on the asphalt, just some laps after, he crashed alone because he pushed too much hard in order to win the Grand Prix and this made him lose some positions, then he did his best to close the gap but he had to settle down for a fifth position.
Today we can talk about a “French podium”, in fact, the third step was for HONDA Luc1 Owatrol Sylvain Bydart, who was very happy and excited about his best performance on his country soil. The French Champion felt confident with this type of asphalt, considered one of the best of the season to him and to most of the riders. Bydart made a consistent race one clinching the third position; in the second heat he made a great race, battling with Andrea Occhini, Hermunen and Tom Chareyre, getting some positions and towards the end he managed to overtake Ivan Lazzarini finishing third as well.
Fourth place for HM L30 Racing Ivan Lazzarini who made two solid races, reaching the fourth position in both heaths.
Pretty satisfied with his sixth overall position today, SUZUKI Brt Andrea Occhini who found the good rhythm towards the end of the season, just after the summer break. He was followed by the home rider YAMAHA Team Blot Aurelien Grelier who was able to finish seventh overall today.
Only eighth position for TM Shr Mauno Hermunen who preferred riding safe this Sunday, to get the 2013 FIM Supermoto World Championship Title. In the first heat he took the holeshot; immediately after Thomas Chareyre overtook him and so he lost some position, then he fell down in the off-road part due to a contact with Van Den Bosch. After he had a good recovery going up from the tenth to the fourth position after having passing Christian Ravaglia, Angel Karanyotov, Hannes Maier and Aurelien Grelier. In the second heat maintained the eighth position tried to avoid any possible mistake.
TM SHR Petr Vorlicek finished ninth overall after 8-9 results followed by the Bulgarian HONDA Angel Karanyotov, who closed the top ten.
