The world’s best Hard Enduro rider, Graham Jarvis dominated the 2014 Hell’s Gate hard enduro.
Getting his 2014 season off to a perfect start, Graham Jarvis delivered five perfect laps of the il Ciocco venue to cement his status as the most successful Hell’s Gate rider of all time.
Finding a way past early pacesetter Jonny Walker, Jarvis hit the front of the field halfway round lap one and never looked back. Unfazed by a short-lived chase from Walker, Graham steadily extended his advantage over a diminishing pack.
By the time it came to the pinnacle of Hell’s Gate: an impossible climb up the formidable Hell’s Peak, Walker was Jarvis’s sole competitor. Jarvis scaled it with ease and notched up win #4.

“It’s a special feeling to get win number four at Hell’s Gate,” said Jarvis. “No one else has done that so it’s definitely something to be proud of. Overall my race went to plan. Second fastest in the morning qualifier was the start I was looking for. Once I got into the lead in the main race I just did my own thing.”
Difficult day for Jonny Walker
Looking to challenge Jarvis for the top spot, Walker appeared to have his day go to plan when he won the morning qualification race. But despite taking the holeshot in the main race, he wasn’t able to pull away from the field. And with Jarvis closing in it was only a matter of time before the lead changed hands.
Finding his groove as they began the third lap of five, the KTM rider appeared to close the gap to Jarvis. But it wasn’t enough and Walker remained in second place and the only other rider to finish the race.
“I won the qualifier, which I set out to do, but couldn’t get my riding together in the main event,” said Walker. “I made mistake after mistake and slowly Graham disappeared. By the time I got into a flow he was already gone. Considering how I rode, I’ll take second – only two of us finished so it was a tough race.”
