Alex Salvini and Alessandro Battig Italian Enduro Champions

Alex_Salvini_Alessandro_Battig_Enduro_Campion_2015-10-21Saturday and Sunday: two unforgettable days for the Honda-RedMoto-Zanardo Team in the final round of the Enduro Italian Championship, raced this weekend in Borno, near Brescia. Alex Salvini finished the season in the best way, getting two victories in the overall classification, but also winning on Saturday his third consecutive Italian title in the prestigious E2 class with the Honda CRF 450R Enduro.

In this way Salvini reaffirmed the great performance of his Honda-RedMoto. Salvini’s race in Borno was amazing: he was the major player of a hard-fought race of four laps on Saturday, with twelve special tests, and three and a half laps on Sunday. On Saturday Salvini got seven best times, winning eleven tests, while on Sunday he won all the nine special tests of E2 class. A pride for the whole Team Honda-RedMoto-Zanardo, that at his first season with a direct involvement in the enduro competitions assisted Salvini with professionalism. In the E1 class it was also an amazing performance by Alessandro Battig.

Battig arrived in Borno as leader, he finished third on Saturday and got the victory on Sunday, in a tough race that was made even harder due to the mud. A great result that ensured him the conquest of his first enduro Italian title. A dream became true after days of hard work. The Italian titles got by Salvini in E2 and Battig in E1 class were the perfect end of a great season.Alex

Salvini (E2 class)
“It was a nice challenge for the overall title, because at the end I finished with the same point of Meo. Here, as in the World Championship in France, I wanted to finish as the mayor player. I’m so happy because I got two victories of the day, the E2 Italian title and I concluded with the same points of Meo in the overall standings, finishing second only for the counting victories. I thank the whole team for these results”.

Alessandro Battig (E1 class)
“I’m really happy because here I made a painful but an exciting race, finally getting the title. It was not so easy, because the mud did not help me. I tried really hard: on Saturday I finished third, while on Sunday I attack from the beginning, giving my best especially in the line test, where I finally got the victory. Now I will work with more determination with the team for the next year. I go home happy and I thank all the team, especially Guerrino Zanardo, who wanted my passage from cross to enduro. Still on Monday I will start working for 2016, hoping to reach new results”.

Egidio Motta (Holder Honda RedMoto)
“We are very happy with Salvini’s race. He won his third Italian title in E2 class with our motorbike. Here he also managed to impose his pace winning the overall classification and this is a very important result for us. Even the victory of Battig was fantastic, because he fought until the end to get the title. Days like those in Borno give us motivation and optimism to keep on working for next season. We thank all those who allowed us to be competitive, starting from our technical partners, Honda and RedMoto. A special thanks also to our riders and to the entire team for the conquest of this two amazing victories in the Italian Championship”.

Franco Mayr (Team Manager)
“Finally Battig conquered an amazing victory in the enduro after two years of experience. He has been able to fight to the end with a champion like Simone Albergoni, holding the nerves under pressure. He raced better on Sunday, despite he had only one point of advantage with Albergoni. I’m very happy for him and I hope he’ll improve. Salvini demonstrated his competitiveness winning the two days and finishing the overall standing with the same points of Meo. But that’s not all, because he won his third E2 Italian title too. Our two riders completed a great season. A special thanks to all our sponsors, who supported us during this years. Thanks to Honda, RedMoto and Egidio Motta, for this amazing 2015 full of victories and satisfaction”.
