Albert Cabestany – Sherco has arrived in Malaga in a sombre mood ahead of tonight’s FIM X-Trial World Championship event in the Spanish city, but did his best to produce a smile for the camera as he talked about a close family matter. The Sherco factory rider is still coming to terms with the sad and recent loss of his grandmother, as he also looks to put his disappointing result at the last round in Barcelona behind him.
“My grandmother died two weeks ago, since my first years she has been like a mother to me, so it is a really difficult time in my life,” explained Cabestany. “My preparations for tonight have not been as they should have been, but I have just been trying to do my best and to return to Trial as that’s what my grandmother would have wanted as she knows that is my first love.”
“My objective is to be back towards the top tonight, my riding in Barcelona was no different to Sheffield, I just made one mistake and with the new system you have no chance to recover. I don’t think it was due to a specific problem, it was how just it happened on that night. I would like to produce a good result tonight and to remember my grandmother as she was so important to me.” Ended Albert.
