Everybody against Taddy Blazusiak

Echo_Arena_Superenduro 2013After a resounding final in Tours (France) in March and a fourth consecutive crown for Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL – KTM), the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is back on track this Sunday, November 17th in the Echo Arena in Liverpool for the first round of this 2013-2014 season…

For the opening round of the season, the FIM gave to the ACU, Thundersport GB and the local promoter MotoGB the tough task to organize the first round of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. It’s not the first time this Moto Club will organize a motorbike race as they have already organized many road races in the United Kingdom.

MotoGB, and its representative Tony BROCK, didn’t hesitate a second to choose the Arena. The Echo Arena in Liverpool was perfect to welcome this opening round of the 2013-2014 SEWC. This Arena, with a capacity of 12.000 places, has opened in January 2008 and has already received numerous big events as the concert of Paul MCCARTNEY, Lady Gaga, Justin BIEBER, Rihanna and also many celebrations as the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. The Arena has been built in order to reduce half of its CO2 production.

Liverpool, 4th city of the United Kingdom, is situated in the district of Merseyside. Multicultural city of approximately 450 000 inhabitants, Liverpool is well-known in the World to be the city of the mythic music band “The Beatles” and for his historical soccer team. It is situated only 55 kilometers West from Manchester and 340 kilometers North-West from London.

With a tough and impressive rider list in the three classes, it’s in a wonderful Echo Arena that the GP of United Kingdom will amaze the public awaited like during the good old days of the 60’s and of the Beatles!

The stars of the discipline can’t wait to fight during this event that will be awesome! The four time World Champion Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL – KTM) will be of course the great favorite but he will have to take care of the “Fab Four”(nickname of the creators of the Beatles) and composed by David KNIGHT (GB – Sherco), Jonny WALKER (GB – KTM), Danny MCCANNEY (GB – KTM) and Tom SAGAR (GB – KTM). Indeed, the SuperEnduro “Beatles” will have only one goal: to bring down the king of his throne and shine in front of its crowd. But the KTM rider will also have to compose with old faces from the Endurocross… Indeed, Cody WEBB (USA – Beta) will be present in the Echo Arena with for only goal, the victory.

He will be accompanied of his US compatriot from the FMF/RPM/KTM team Maxxis, Kyle REDMOND, Kevin ROOKSTOOL and Ricky DIETRICH… Surprise of the last season, the Hungarian Kornel NEMETH (KTM) is also one of the big contender for the podium like Alfredo GOMEZ (E – HVA), 4th last season, and Joakim LJUNGGREN (S – HVA), used to the SEWC podiums… 2009 SuperEnduro World Champion, Ivan CERVANTES (E – KTM) is back on the Championship with the intention to fight for the first positions. He will team in the KTM with the Hard Enduro specialist Andreas LETTENBICHLER (D) who will make his first steps in the discipline.

Finally, we can’t forget the French young guns Mathias BELLINO (HVA), with his promising riding style, and Benoit FORTUNATO (Yamaha) just like the Spaniards Dani GIBERT (Husaberg) and Mario ROMAN (Husaberg) or also the German Edward HUBNER (Yamaha)… But with only sixteen riders accepted in finals, the qualifications will be “hot”!

In the Junior class, with the 2012-2013 World Champion Danny MCCANNEY out of the category to fight with the best of the discipline in Prestige class, the spectators will have a big show with an intense duel between Pawel SZYMKOWSKI (PL – KTM) and Giacomo REDONDI (I – KTM)… Those two riders, who have already shown their talents last season, will be joined by the 2013 FIM Youth Cup 125cc winner Jamie MCCANNEY (GB – HVA) and by Magnus THOR (S – KTM). On their side, Romain LELOUP (F – KTM), Nicolo MORI (I – Beta), Tim APOLLE (D – HVA) and Andreas LINUSSON (S – KTM) will look for a Top 10 rank around the British pack.

Finally, in the brand new Women World Cup, three riders seem to be over the pack. Indeed, Jane DANIELS (GB – HVA), second last year in Tours, has already shown her goals during the off-season and will have the fervor of the spectators. But the British will have a lot to do with Laïa SANZ (E – Honda) and Sandra GOMEZ (E – Husaberg). Alfredo GOMEZ’s sister had the occasion to show her talent during the X Games of Barcelona and Munich where she grabbed two bronze medal. Actually 9th in the US Endurocross Championship, Louise FORSLEY (USA – KTM) will be the third rider to follow this Sunday. We’ll have also to keep an eye on the young Polish Natalia SNIADA (KTM) and also the local Fionn GRIFFITHS (KTM) and Emma BRISTOW (Sherco)…

After a 2012-2013 season which we saw David KNIGHT coming tickle Taddy BLAZUSIAK, the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship will be more open than ever and the king BLAZUSIAK never seems so “in danger”. Start of the answer on Sunday, November 17th in the Echo Arena in Liverpool (United Kingdom) from 13.30 where the SEWC stars appoint you for suspense, amazing races and intense show!
