First historic win for Tim Gajser in Moto 2 at Brazilian MXGP!

Tim-Gajser_MXGP_Brazil_Goias_2014First superb win in the second moto of the Grand Prix of Brazil in the State of Goias for TIM GAJSER, with an incredible display of speed and determination the 17 years old Slovenian started around the 9th place and then he passed all the opponents in front of him one by one to score an impressive and historic win. A small crash in the first moto, when he was riding in fifth place, prevented the young champion to score his first overall win in a GP. Gajser finished for the fifth time this season on a very deserved podium and now he firmly holds a fifth place in overall MX2 standings, with a bright future in front of him being the youngest rider of the series. Now he’s ready to step up the pace aboard his very strong CRF250RW.

The Japanese KEI YAMAMOTO scored in Brazil his best result of the season with a 14th overall with two very consistent races in the heat of the Goias State. The progress made by Kei is really evident after a learning season in Europe, so now he’s ready for the top ten at the last GP in Mexico.

The last Grand Prix of the season will be held next weekend in Mexico before the closing event of the MXoN in Latvia at the end of September !

Tim Gajser, 3rd: “I can’t believe that I have won my first race in GP, it’s really so exciting especially after the bad crashes I had yesterday in the qualifying practice and race. It’s really amazing!”

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Manager: “Finally we have seen what Tim is capable of when all goes right for him! On Saturday he crashed badly and had to go to the hospital, so we did not know in which conditions he was for the races on the Sunday and this win and the podium are a great gift to all of us. I said to him that when he rides as he knows he can beat them at every race and in every track but he is just learning now that he can do it. A special thank goes to all the HRC guys and Roger Harvey, they have done such a great work with us during all season and this first moto win is a small reward for all their engagement with our team.”
