Greg Aranda is 2014 King of Munich while The Prince is Thomas Do

gregory_aranda_supercross_2014SX2 Race 1: To avoid issues from yesterday Thomas Do put himself out in front with the holeshot and never looked back. Yanis Irsuti never got the chance to repeat the blockpass from the day before. Local Tom Koch put the sold out Olympiahalle alive with another podium finish.

SX1 Heat 1: Greg Aranda prooved that he wants to call it “the night of revenge” as he used a mistake of Gavin Faith in the whoops to ride to an easy heat race win. Faith came second in front of a very strong Dennis Ullrich. Fighting with sickness Jace Owen came home in fourth and French Sullivan Jaulin took the last transfer spot.

SX1 Heat 2: Jake Canada, who missed Friday night, used a mistake from Jason Clermont on the last lap to start his evening undefeated while Clermont was second, holeshot winner Mickael Musquin third, French Boris Maillard fourth and this time Bobby Kiniry made the transfer direct to the main event.

SX2 Race 2: Thomas Do took the holeshot and checked out. Without even one mistake it simply looked like practice for him. He took the win by 9 seconds over Yanis Irsuti who needed seven laps to take over second. Theo Ropin came home in third right in front of German Tom Koch who secured third overall in his only fourth SX race.

SX2 overall (Race 1 + Race 2): 1.Thomas Do 2.Yanis Irsuti 3.Tom Koch

SX1 Last Chance: Florent Richier took the holeshot right after winning the best whip contest against all the freestylers. American Ben Lamay charged to the front and took the win while Richier stayed in second and transferred to the main too.

Superpole: Ben Lamay secured the pole position after coming through the LCQ only by 0.069 seconds off Greg Aranda. Jason Clermont took third, Gavin Faith made a mistake on his hot lap and had to live with disadvantage of the last starting gate position for the final main event in Munich.

American Final: The battle of the non-qualified riders was won by Steven Clarke from Great Britain followed by American Zach Armes and French Nico Aubin.

SX1 Main Event: Unfortunately the main event was red-flagged after a crash from French Sullivan Jaulin on the first lap. Jaulin needed medical assistance but left Olympiahalle on his own feet. The holeshot of the restart took once again Dennis Ullrich. The crowd carried him through a few laps in the lead. Then Ben Lamay took over the control and stayed mistake-free. Aranda and Faith tangled on the first lap, but Aranda regrouped and made some quick passes for the second, but even that Lamay stayed out of reach. Faith also stormed through the pack but his charge ended behind an impressive Ullrich who took third and after that the German crowd went crazy.

Ben Lamay: “I had a tough day going through the LCQ but from then on everything went perfect. I took the Superpole and in the main I lead early and just made 15 solid laps. I’m very happy to come out with a win finally.”

Dennis Ullrich: “I feel better and better on the Suzuki, just getting the flow slowly. Of course I’m super pumped with the podium.”
