Jeremy Delince to 24MX Honda

Jeremy-Delince-24MX-Honda-2014Current Swiss MX1 championship leader Jérémy Delincé has been drafted into the 24MX Honda Racing team to replace the injured Jens Getteman. Delincé will tackle his new challenge with several seasons of MX1 experience under his belt. The 23-year old Belgian is set to make his MXGP debut on the 24MX Hon-da CRF450R in Matterley Basin, this weekend.

Getteman underwent a successful operation on his broken scaphoid last Wednesday and will now face a six-week recovery period before beginning rehabilitation. Without a clear date for Jens’ return 24MX Honda wanted a capable, motivated replacement rider to step in for as many rounds of the championship as needed. Delincé clearly has unfinished business in GP’s as he left the series after a disappointing 2011 campaign in MX1.

The last couple of seasons Jeremy has developed into a regular top-5 contender in international races and a leading rider in Switzerland. He earned the Swiss MX1 crown in 2013 and also recorded a wildcard MX3 podium at the 2010 Swiss Grand Prix. Alongside his GP appearances Delincé will fulfill his duties for Roger Brauchli’s RB-Yamaha Team in the Swiss Nationals.

Jeremy Delincé: “It’s an amazing opportunity to race in MXGP with 24MX Honda Racing! I’m really looking forward to race against the best and to show what I can do. Insiders probably realize that I stepped up my game since I was last in GP’s full-time so it’s cool to get some recognition for that! But that’s just the start. Now it’s up to me to prove that I’m a faster and stronger rider than before. I want to thank everyone who’s behind me and kept believing in me. Also a big danke to my team manager Roger in Switzerland who agreed to let me take part in non-conflicting World Championship rounds!”
