Jeremy Martin goes 1-1 at Utah

jeremy_martin_utah_national_250_practice_crosland-2014A championship season for Jeremy Martin came to a close in Utah similar to the way it began at Glen Helen – with a 1-1 sweep of the motos.

The MotoSport.com Holeshot went to Joey Savatgy, who continues to find himself at the front of the field, but he was quickly overtaken by Martin. Martin was able to check out from there and win his second moto of the day.

There was plenty of movement behind Martin which impacted the battle for second place in 250 Class point standings. Marvin Musquin and Justin Bogle both passed Savatgy on Lap 4 to move into the top three, but Blake Baggett and Cooper Webb were on the move as well.

Bogle passed Musquin for second on Lap 10, then Musquin gave up two more spots to Webb and Baggett on the following lap.  While Bogle held on to second, the battle for third place between Webb and Baggett turned into a battle for second place in points as well, and although Baggett admitted that second place didn’t particularly mean all that much to him, he was able to lock it up after making the pass on Webb on Lap 13.

The pass also landed Baggett (3-3) second overall for the day behind Martin and relegated Webb (2-4) to third overall.
