Red Bull KTM factory rider Jordi Tixier had his first night out on the KTM 350 SX-F at the Genova SX Superbowl and finished a solid overall fifth competing against some of the top US riders.
It was a good warm-up for the KTM factory rider and MX2 Vice World Champion just one week before riding in front of his home crowd at the Paris Bercy Supercross.
Jordi qualified fifth in the SX1 class to advance to the main event and was then fourth in the Super Pole. He finished seventh in his first heat after a crash at the beginning of the race and then again just before the flag drop. He fared better in the second heat to pick up a sixth place for a total of 19 points and overall fifth for the night on a track that was at times slippery and stony in some of the corners.
Jordi Tixier: “It was a fun night and good training for next weekend in Paris Bercy. I’m looking forward to riding in front of my home fans next weekend.”
Another highlight for the Italian fans was a close up and personal encounter with their hero, seven-times World Champion, Red Bull KTM’s Tony Cairoli, who was a big attraction at the well-visited KTM stand.
