It was not a real surprise when Toni Bou – Repsol Montesa took the 2013 FIM X-Trial World Championship by winning the penultimate round of the series in Bielefeld, Germany. This was the thirteenth FIM World title for the twenty-six year old Spanish rider, and only time will tell if it proves an unlucky achievement in his already incredible career. Bou could not hide his delight as he spoke after the German event.
“This is an incredible moment for me and my team. Tonight I have had an incredible feeling and my riding was at its best. To win the championship in this way is just perfect. It was a fantastic event, the sections were the correct level and the crowd were fantastic. My ride on the second section in the final was the important moment and was one of my best. The reaction of the fans was incredible too.”
“It is nice that the championship has come to Germany and that I could win the title in the city of Bielefeld, I will remember this day for a long time. Right now it feels like the best moment ever. I am looking forward now to enjoying tonight with my team and friends and also the coming days when I will celebrate this victory too.”
