Marchetti Racing has recently announced that Ivo Monticelli will race the 2014 FIM MX2 World Championship wearing the colours of the Italian team. Elio Marchetti, team manager of Marchetti Racing, has reached an agreement with the young Italian rider and Monticelli will ride a KTM SX 250F in 2014.
‘I am very pleased to announce this agreement because lining up Ivo was our first option for the 2012 MX2 championship,’ said Elio Marchetti. ‘He’s a young rider and we believe he has the potential to grow a lot and make a good season. Our team, with the support of KTM, will put all the effort to help Ivo becoming one of the protagonists of the category. These days we are talking to other riders to complete the line up of the team for the next season,’ Elio Marchetti added.
Ivo Monticelli was born in Ancona (Italy), on August 16, 1994. He started racing at seven years old and in 2008 and 2009 he won the Junior European Supercross Championships.
