Less than a month and a half before the opening round of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, KTM Factory, via its competition manager Alex DORINGER, as announce the riders that will compose its team. And the least we can say is that it will be heavy!
Without any surprise, we find the two safe values and the favorites: Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL) and Jonny WALKER (GB). BLAZUSIAK, actually in the US to defend his Endurocross crown, has already 4 titles in a row and doesn’t seem satisfied. On his side, WALKER had a first experience in the EWC and above all a brilliant victory in the Red Bull Sea to Sky that should strengthen his confidence.
Besides those two stars of the SuperEnduro, KTM has also announced the participation of 4 times Enduro World Champion and 2009 SuperEnduro World Champion, Ivan CERVANTES (E), who will arrive over-motivated and with the intention to upset the current hierarchy, like David KNIGHT (GB – Sherco) did last year… Moreover, the showmanship of the popular Catalan should amaze the tens of thousands of spectators expected.
Former Husqvarna rider, Andreas LETTENBICHLER (D) will be the fourth rider of the orange army. This 39 years old German is a well-known Enduro Extreme rider with, in his career highlights, a win in the 2009 Red Bull Romaniacs and many podiums including those acquired on the Erzberg and the Romaniacs this year.
Therefore, it would be minimalist to say that KTM puts the odds on his side to remain the boss in SuperEnduro. With WALKER and BLAZUSIAK, the Austrian firm had already an impressive and respected team. But with the addition of “Torito” Ivan CERVANTES and Andreas LETTENBICHLER, KTM is in another dimension and uses all means to monopolize the podium of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship which begins in November, 17th in the Echo Arena in Liverpool!
