Lorenzo had a smile on his face before the start of this great Gran Prix race, he is familiar with the type of course that the Bergamo motorcycle club sets up and it was a course of his liking.
On Saturday he found himself battling for the podium, there were four riders in a tight fight for the top three places, the lead changed several times but in the end Lorenzo ended up finishing in fourth place.
On Sunday, Lorenzo fought back and had his revenge from the previous day. He won the first special and then led the race from start to finish and pulled off the win. This was the first victory in his career in E1 World competition.
Matti Seistola was still experiencing pain all weekend. In addition to the pain in his broken hand his truck broke down on Friday which added additional stress to his weekend.
He raced courageously on both days but the pain in his hand proved to be very tiring. He did however manage to finish tenth and eighth. The points that he earned allowed him to maintain third place in the overall standings.
Rudy Moroni did not have a good experience at his home track, a violent fall on Saturday forced him to abandon. On Sunday errors in the special relegated him to eleventh place.
Anthony as Loic discovered the famous “Bergamo Valleys”, which caused him to make several mistakes in the race but he managed to race in the top 5 for a good portion of the race in the E2 class.
For Anthony this was not an easy race and he ended up struggling on Saturday but did manage to improve his lap times on Sunday. He concluded the weekend with an eleventh and ninth place finish.
