After a torrid start to the 2014 FIM Trial World Championship French rider Loris Gubian – Gas Gas will return to the series in Corsica tomorrow after having sat out the last round in Japan. Since placing down in a lowly fifteenth place on both days of the opening GP in Australia due to bike problems, the three times national French champion has since switched from Ossa back to Gas Gas.
Ranked eighth in the outdoor series last year Gubian is sure to be more confident now that he is back on the same machinery that propelled him into the top ten during the 2013 season. With only two points on the board, Loris currently sits at nineteenth in the general standings, although is sure to climb the rankings if he can regain the form that saw him claim a career best sixth place at his home GP back in 2011.
Whilst not on the French mainland, like his native compatriots, Gubian is sure to regard tomorrow’s European GP as a home round as he looks to deliver a worthy performance in Corsica in front of his French fans.
Since joining the FIM Trial World Championship back in 2008, Loris has been the winner of the FIM Junior Trial World Cup in the same season, before also adding the European title to his list of achievements.
