
Honda JTech and Honda Europe are pleased to announce that the young Frenchman Maxime Desprey will ride the 250F of the team in the 2014 MX2 World Championship series. After a strong first season in the MX2 World Championship, Maxime Desprey will join soon team Honda JTech to prepare the 2014 season. Sixteenth in the 2013 MX2 World Championship, for his first experience at this level, Maxime has been really consistent with a total of twenty-eight race finishes in the points on a total of thirty-four. The young Frenchman had also a couple of highlights, such as leading the first heat of the Belgian GP during fifteen minutes (he scored a great fourth position) or leading the qualifying race at the French GP during a long period (with a second place at the end) and all these qualities make him competitive for fighting with the best riders in the next season. Maxime has decided to sign with team Honda JTech, who got some great results with Russian Tonkov on the Honda prepared in the Italian team. Maxime will be the leading rider of the team, and with one full season of GP’s behind him, he will have higher goals for 2014.
Maxime Desprey: “I’m very happy to join Honda JTech and to work with Gabriele Rinaldi the team manager/owner, who shows interest in me since I was racing the European series, and Iller Aldini the technical manager/owner. I know that I will have very good support and material to go one step ahead, and to confirm the results I got this season with some highlights. I’m pumped to go soon testing the Honda 250F”.
Gabriele Rinaldi: “I’m confident for the next year with the support of Honda Europe and Maxime with us; I think he has what it takes to race a very good season and also all the team, with great people around and hard work, is ready for the action”.
Iller Aldini: “I’m glad to have Desprey in the team, this gets me motivated to work with an another young rider in addition to Kalle Olsson and Thomas Kjer Olsen. We are already working to give them the best support for the next season”.
