After the long TC222 era, last year the rookie of the MXGP, Romain Fevbre (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory) won the title, the Frenchman third at 2015 Internazionali d’Italia MX; this year is the “man to beat”, starting already from Alghero.
There will be many top world riders riding in Alghero: everyone is ready to give his best. Max Nagl (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) is going to have is revenge, after the injury that stopped him while he was leading the MXGP class; Gautier Paulin (Honda Racing Corporation MXGP), MXGP’s vice-champion is ready to take the leadership and his team mate, the Russian Evgeny Bobryshev, third in 2015’s MXGP and proud of his great final part of 2015 season. Moreover there will be also the Belgian Jeremy Van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory), the Dutch Glenn Coldenhoff (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and the French Christophe Charlier (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), ready to show to be at their team-mates level. Then Tim Gajser (Honda Gariboldi) the MX2 World Champion want to show to everybody all his skill and consistency riding a 450, as well as it will be for Valentin Guillod (Kemea Yamaha Official Mx Team) e Josè Butron (Marchetti Racing KTM). On Alghero track we will see also the young MX2 “lions”, with Davy Pootjes and Jonass Pauls (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Max Anstie and Thomas Covington (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory), Jens Getteman (KTM Silver Action) and Josè Zaragoza (Honda Gariboldi), headed by the former World Champion Jeffrey Herlings.
There are few days before the first gate of the international season will drop and unfortunately “our” Antonio Cairoli (KTM Red Bull Factory racing) will not be part of the list. The Sicilian rider trained at his best during the winter to recover from the injury that stopped him last year but he still needs to wait for the 2016 debut, due to a training crash. His absence will be an opportunity for the other riders who not only want to battle on track but also be competitive for the final huge money prize.
Try to immagine what will be the final of Elite class: let’s take the first 20 riders of MXGP and MX2, the sandy track of Alghero, the 120.000,00 € prize and the aim to win of every single rider! Be ready for a challenge that will be remembered in our memories.
For all the supporters that cannot come to Sardinia, there will be the live streaming of the races on our website www.offroadproracing.it
