Nagl and Bobryshev are ready for the Swedish round

Max Nagl_gp09_maggiora 2013The Honda World Motocross team is heading to Uddevalla, Sweden this weekend for round 10 of the MX1 World Championship, where the duo of Max Nagl and Evgeny Bobryshev will be looking for strong results, especially with the support of the many Honda fans at this race.

Following on from the last Grand Prix in Italy, both riders have been racing in national events with Nagl winning both heats in Germany for round three of the championship, and Bobryshev also taking the overall in the Dutch championship last weekend.

Since then both riders have been out training on the bike in the sand to prepare for the next three races, which will be on softer terrain than we’ve seen in recent Grands Prix events. Uddevalla is a track that both riders enjoy, and it’s an event that should be well-supported by many Honda fans.

Nagl’s goal is for good, clean starts, as this will allow the 25-year-old German to show his full potential aboard his Dunlop-shod factory CRF450R, whereas 25-year-old Russian Bobryshev is looking forward to being in the sand, so he can have two enjoyable races with the aim of being closer to the front in the standings.

Both riders will certainly be hoping for good weather, and the forecast is cooler than in Italy but reasonably dry, although they will be especially hopeful the rain stays away, as last year was a washout, which turned the race into a lottery.

Max Nagl #12:
“Sweden is a nice track, which I like. It gets quite rough, and the weather won’t be too hot, although we hope it’s not like last year. I’m looking forward to it, and it will be good to be on the softer ground. Since Italy I have trained a little in the week on the sandy ground with the team and then raced in Germany. I won both heats and it was a really nice race, one of the biggest rounds with around 20,000 spectators, so that’s given me a really good feeling. In Sweden we’ll be attending a training school for some junior riders on Friday, but over the weekend I haven’t set any goals for the result. My main focus is just to get good starts in the races and go from there.”

Evgeny Bobryshev #777:
“Uddevalla is one of my favourite tracks. After Italy I was disappointed, but we’ve had some really good training in the last two weeks, and I won the overall in the Dutch national races at the weekend. I am now waiting for Sweden and I just have to see how it goes on the weekend. I am tired of the problems I’ve had and I want to be back, so we are looking for a good result. It’s taken so long to recover from injury and it has been strange, because in my head the speed is there, but the confidence to perform hasn’t. We need some luck, and for it all to click together; I’ve been working really hard, and the training has been much better than before Italy. The sandy ground will be better for me, and I like it, as I can use the power of the bike to have some fun. I’ve been working as best I can, which is the main thing, and I’m looking forward to the next three races on good tracks, as many are saying they are my kind of tracks, so lets see what we can do”
