The first race day of the Erzbergodeo’s 21st edition gets the Austrian fans on their feet: Ossi Reisinger dominates the spectacular uphill-race in front of Brad Williams (UK) and FMX-icon Jimmy Verburgh (BEL).
300 riders from 23 nations and 4 continents competed at the Erzbergrodeo’s opener on race day one – the KÄRCHER Rocket Ride. The uphill-race at the bottom of Erzberg served a gnarly and very steep 4-story racetrack which was prolonged for the 2015 edition. After two qualifying heats during the day, only the 48 fastest riders were allowed to race the Superfinals in the evening. Austrian speed expert Ossi Reisinger celebrated his third triumph in the history of the Kärcher Rocket Ride, followed by 17-years old Welsh Brad Williams, who crowned his first ever visit at the Erzbergrodeo with an impressive podium finish. Belgian Freestyle-MX legend Jimmy Verburgh took a well earned third place, even though he had to deal with a flat front tire. Thousands of enthusiastic spectators alongside the selective racetrack could witness an action-loaded show, as even experienced motorcycle off road riders had serious problems with the long and impressively steep uphills.
Final results KÄRCHER ROCKET RIDE 2015:
- Ossi Reisinger (AUT/Husqvarna)
- Brad Williams (UK/Husqvarna)
- Jimmy Verburgh (BEL/KTM)
- Michael Salbrechter (AUT/Yamaha)
- Martin Ortner (AUT/KTM)
- Nico Schwingenschlögl (DE/Beta)

Offroad top riders at the Erzbergrodeo XXI: Karl Katoch presents the world elite of Xtreme Enduro Sports at the Erzbergrodeo opening press conference
The first highlight of today saw Erzbergrodeo mastermind Karl Katoch presenting the top riders to media represent ants from all over the word – and the long list of superstars translates into the Who-is-Who of Xtreme Enduro Sports: Taddy Blazusiak (POL, KTM), the 5-times winner of Red Bull Hare Scramble, 2014 winner Jonny Walker (UK/KTM), Graham Jarvis (UK/Husqvarna), Andreas Lettenbichler (GER/KTM), Alfredo Gomez (ESP/Husqvarna), Wade Young (RSA/KTM), brothers Ben and Dan Hemingway (UK/Beta), Mario Roman Serrano (ESP/KTM) and Austrias Lars Enöckl (AUT/KTM) all take on the challenge to battle against the “iron mountain” later on the upcoming sunday. FMX-legend and motorcycle stunt riding entrepreneur Robbie Maddison (AUS/KTM) completes the squad of stars.
Generali Iron Road Prologue 2015: the dirt bike scene’s biggest and boldest starting grid versus the “Iron Giant”
On tomorrow’s second race day it’s all about full throttle. 1500 riders from 38 nations and all continents will compete in the legendary Generali Iron Road Prologue, a high-speed off road race to the Erzberg’s summit. The 13 kilometers long gravel racetrack winds from the very bottom of the mountain up to the finish line at 1466 meters and serves a mixture of full-speed straights and lots of wide corners. The past few years saw Austrian riders dominating the popular race, but we will see if the local cracks can once again prevail against their international competition.
Red Bull Hare Scramble 2015: the Erzbergrodeo’s highlight serves the hardest track in the 21 year-long history of the unique event
Only the 500 fastest prologue riders qualify for the toughest Xtreme Enduro race of the world – the Red Bull Hare Scramble on Sunday. The 35 kilometers long racetrack truly divides the men from the boys, and the 2015 track design offers even more cruel challenges to the competitors. “We do not expect more than 10 riders to finish the race this year, mostly due to the aggravated track layout and the hot temperatures. The Red Bull Hare Scramble is still the toughest single day race event in the world, and the racetrack will take its toll on even the best riders!”, explains race promotor Karl Katoch.
