Despite being a big name on the offroad biking scene Down Under it was a fearless Dakar debut that thrust the Australian into the global spotlight. While plenty of more high-profile names fell victim to the harsh conditions that characterise the world’s toughest race, Price sealed a podium finish at the first time of asking.

With the winners of the last ten Dakar bike races – Cyril Despres and Marc Coma – no longer on two wheels the stage is set for a new generation of riders to exert their own dominance in the desert. Twelve months on since his first appearance at the Dakar and Price is now signed up to KTM’s Factory Team. It’s clear he has all the necessary tools to take a couple more steps up the podium when the Dakar returns in January 2016. If you still need convincing, check out the exclusive edit above from Ride: World Elements by FourOhFour Films to see Price and his KTM go toe-to-toe with 600bhp truck in Australia’s Simpson Desert.

On a good, hard-packed surface we’re doing around 185 to 190 kph. It’s the best feeling in the world.
