The scenic setting of Nord Vue that overlooks the Cumbrian hills will have the honour of hosting the penultimate round of the 2013 FIM Trial World Championship this weekend, starting tomorrow with the first of two days of competition. Twelve months ago the same rocky venue brought a close to the series in emphatic style. Although by the time Toni Bou – Repsol Montesa rolled into town last year he had already been crowned champion, it did not stop him signing off with two wins to seal yet another dominant season.
Takahisa Fujinami – Repsol Montesa and Adam Raga – Gas Gas each respectively recorded a runners-up placing apiece at the 2012 British Trial Grand Prix, with Raga’s second day second spot being vital to him snatching the vice World Champion position in the final standings. Adam was also on the podium on day one, to confirm his liking of the rugged terrain. However for the home fans the big story of last July was when James Dabill – Beta stepped up on to the rostrum on Sunday afternoon to score his first and only ever top three placing, a feat he is sure to want to repeat when the action gets underway tomorrow morning.
