Victory for Matthew Phillips in WEC of Portugal

Matthew_Phillips_WEC_Sherco_Portugal_GP_2016-04-19After racing in the heat and dust of Morocco, the riders competing in the World Championship had to face the torrential rains of Portugal. The conditions were so bad that the organizers shortened the race on Saturday. On Sunday the riders rode a special that was modified by the club in order for the race to proceed without any worries.

Matthew Phillips demonstrated that in spite of the changing conditions, he is one of the world’s best riders, he rode through a very challenging special and won the Enduro GP on Saturday. The next day, he was not feeling great but still managed to finish fifth, this gave him a strong second place finish for the weekend in E2. After the first two rounds of the Championship he is the overall leader in the provisional standings in the Enduro GP in E2!

Lorenzo Santolino is still in the learning phase on the two stroke, this weekend he suffered several falls and had some bad luck. He did manage to finish the two days of racing in eighth and seventh place in E3.
