24MX Honda Racing’s Xavier Boog suffered an unfortunate crash early in the second moto of the French GP in Saint-Jean d’Angély. After a complete examination at the hospital in Poitiers yesterday the extent of his injuries was determined: a fracture to the C7 vertebra and the T3 and T4 vertebrae in the back have been affected as well.

Fortunately there’s no further damage and Xavier doesn’t need surgery. To help speed up the healing process he will have to wear a corset for the next few weeks as well as a neck collar support for several weeks. The affable French rider will return home later this week.

The 24MX Honda team, our fans and partners are all deeply touched by Sunday’s events. We’ve been overwhelmed with reactions and we’d like to thank everyone for their supportive messages either in person or through social media. We all wish Xavier a full recovery and we encourage everyone to continue showing their support.
