REPORT TIME – Rain and cold didn’t stop Internazionali d’Italia Motocross SIDI Series: the public was very excited for the great fights on track between the challengers for the title, Evgeny Bobryshev (HRC) and Jeremy Van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team). They have been protagonists of exciting races, giving their best till their limit on the sand of international circuit of Pista South Milano. Generally the race-day has been characterized by the great skill of those riders leader in the championships classification, like Cervellin (Honda Martin Technology) in MX2 and Rubini (KTM Silver Action) in 125. Both of them won their respective races ahead of some of the best European riders arrived in Ottobiano to win.

In the Elite class, that takes the best 20 riders from MX1 and MX2, Bobryshev takes the lead since the first lap and keeps it until the chequered flag: he is the new Elite Champion of 2016 Internazionali d’Italia Motocross SIDI Series and takes the Money Prize Cheque. Van Horebeek folloved him for the entire race: everyone is with bated breath until the finish line watching the risks they take to win. Third classified is Nagl (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory): he is always the fastest at the start and gains the Holeshot Hurly both in MX1 and in Elite race. Outside the podium finished Tim Gajser (Honda Gariboldi), while the first one among the Italian riders was Philippaerts (DP19 Yamaha Racing). At the end of the day, must be noted Bernardini’s (TM FMI Racing) performance: he was the only 250 rider in the top 10 positions of the Elite classification.

In the previous MX1 race, Van Horebeek won and clinched the champion gold plate among the 450cc bikes. Second place took Nagl, who manage to keep behind in third place. Bobryshev, who finished ahead of Coldenhoff (RedBull KTM Factory Racing) and Leok (KTM). Lupino (Honda RedMoto Assomotor) had a bad day as he had to retire with an unlucky mechanical problem, which resulted in DNF and without Elite final.

Michele Cervellin (Honda Martin Technology) is the dominator of MX2 class. It’s a great victory by the “policeman” rider, who had a bad start, but recovered and passed all the riders, one by one, in order to gain the overall victory to become the Internazionali d’Italia MX2 champion. Calvin Vlaanderen (HSF Logistic Motorsport) was second placed, and Henry Jacobi (Honda J-Tech) was third classified; while Furbetta was the fastest at the start and so gets the Holeshot Hurly.

The third consecutive victory for the French Stephan Rubini (KTM Silver Action); he won race #1 and took second place in race #2, ahead of the best under 17 riders in Europe. Behind him was hard fight: Mikkel Haarup (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory) recoved from the fall in the first moto, but won in the second one for the second overall only one point ahead Roan Van de Moosdijk (DP19 Yamaha Racing). Unfortunately Lugana (TM FMI Racing) stays outside the podium for few points, the fall during race#2 compromises the second position of race#1.
