Tim Gajser relaxed and confident ahead of MXGP of Sweden

2015 MXGP of Maggiora - Italy_1041Honda Gariboldi Racing’s Tim Gajser will be looking to continue his winning form on the CRF250RW and close the gap to the MX2 championship lead at the MXGP of Sweden this weekend.

Last year’s event at the Uddevalla track was a successful one for the young Slovenian as he stood on the podium with third overall.

After podium finishes at the past three GPs this season and two overall victories from the last two races, Gajser has currently moved into second in the championship and, having now finished his school exams, is in the form of his career.

After a qualifying race crash that caused Jorge Zaragoza a minor injury at the GP of Germany, the young Spaniard will be looking to tackle this weekend’s event at full strength. Zaragoza will also be aiming to replicate the fifth place running position that he was in before the crash.

Free practice for the MX2 class will start at 10:15 h local time on Saturday with the gate drop for the first race on Sunday at 13:15 h local time.

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Principal
“I think that we can all see Tim right in really top, top form, and still he’s really improving every weekend. He’s not making mistakes, he’s riding really confidently and strongly, and it’s just really coming together for him and us. We’re working in a very good way, and I think this weekend he can easily repeat last year’s podium in Sweden. We’re looking forward to having Jorge back and fit again too, and I hope to be able to see him in the top ten this weekend. It would be wonderful it he could be in the top ten in both races.”

Tim Gajser, no.243
“I’m feeling good and I think I’m in good shape, so I feel ready for this weekend. Actually I can’t wait to get back on the bike again! It’s been great to win the last two GPs, and the ADAC Masters last weekend, so we all have a very positive mind. I really like what I do, I’m riding with no pressure and really enjoying myself, so this weekend we’ll just go and see what happens and have fun. It’s great to have finished school too, as I could get home from Germany on Monday and relax a little and focus on training, and not have to think about exams and studying!”

Jorge Zaragoza, no.101
“After Germany I went to the physio for a few days and in the beginning I had a lot of pain in the shoulder, but now it’s ok again and I’ve been on the bike and training hard again. I was at Uddevalla a few years ago and I really like the track. I hope to have a good weekend and improve like I did in the last few races, and be fighting in the top ten again.”
