Tucker Hibbert Takes 8th Straight Gold In Snowmobile Snowcross

Snowmobile Snocross_Tucker Hibbert_2015_01_26Tucker Hibbert has done it again, earning yet another gold in SnoCross at X Games Aspen 2015. It’s his 8th X Games gold in SnoCross, including wins for the last eight years straight and 13th medal overall.  His teammate Kody Kamm backed him up with the silver, making for a 1-2 finish for the Monster Energy team.

In the 15-man final, Hibbert’s well-deserved eight peat marks the most ever consecutive golds at winter X Games events.  His performance was nothing short of dominant, despite the fact that the course was one of the roughest in SnoCross history.  He took the holeshot and never looked back, pinning the throttle and racing extremely fast.  With each and every lap he navigated through the narrowest of gaps to make his way through the grueling course and extended his lead to win by a significant margin.

When asked about the rough course, Hibbert commented, “It was pretty gnarly and got really chewed out.  For the first seven or eight laps I was jumping stuff and feeling good, but then I had to slow down.”  He went on to thank his team, “I have to thank my entire team for keeping me safe out there.  This has been amazing.”

Although Hibbert, a seasoned veteran who has been competing for half of his life, lost his record of being the youngest X Games gold medalist to Monster Energy’s Chloe Kim, he managed to break a new record with his eight-peat.

HIbbert’s teammate, Kamm came out of the first turn with a lot of fight in him inching his way into second place looking strong and consistent as he fought off challengers to take the silver.

This is Hibbert’s 13th X Games medal overall and 9th gold, including the winning streak that he has held for the last eight appearances.
